Today in observer mode there was an interesting discussion. I totally buy into it and would like to share it with the rest of you.

So we started off talking about Illicet Awakening [iA] and how they used to be like the best American guild (using ranger spike of course). As many of you know, iA disappeared for awhile. So, this idea circulated: What if ArenaNet banned Illicet Awakening just for being to damn good and running a gimmick? A few months later, iA returned. But guess what? No ranger spike. Supposedly iA was unbanned as long as they didn't run ranger spike.

Then another guild came up... Eternum Pariah [EP]. Remember these guys? 119-1 I think the record was. And with a caster spike. With the spike metagame declining and split builds and gale warriors becoming more popular, ANet became worried about EP's threat to the developing metagame. Only one thing stood between EViL and WM's conquest to revolutionize the meta: Blessed Signet. So, EP was banned, and disappeared for awhile.

Well, guess who's back a few months later. That's right, EP. People laughed at them, but just days later they climbed the ladder at an alarming rate and hit page 2. Guess what? They disappeared again. Banned??

So, that's the theory. Watch out [Vibe]. You could be next.
